The official Danish Olympic wardrobe was presented for the first time to athletes and the public at the Danish Sports Awards this weekend. The collection is created in cooperation with Danish athletes, the Sports Confederation of Denmark and BESTSELLER’s brands JACK & JONES and VERO MODA.
The collection is designed by JACK & JONES and VERO MODA together with the two Olympic kayakers Henriette Engel Hansen and Kasper Bleibach and future Olympic swimmer Rikke Møller Pedersen.
“It has been an exciting experience to be part of the entire design process from brainstorming, to sketches and fittings and now the final result. Of course my main focus is a top performance in London, but that being said, I’m also very excited about displaying the clothes at the Olympics,” says Rikke Møller Pedersen.
The Olympic wardrobe is developed especially for the Danish athletes but the entire Danish delegation will benefit from the four lines that make up the collection.
“BESTSELLER provides clothes for the entire Olympic Team, and with official reception wear, casual leisure wear, clothes for the opening and closing ceremony and ‘Denmark wear’, the team is well taken care of. Part of the ‘Denmark wear’ includes the tracksuits for the medal ceremonies, where we hope to see many Danish athletes this summer,” Danish Olympic Manager, Jesper Frigast Larsen explains.
Olympic clothes for the Danes
For the first time ever it will be possible for the Danish fans to get their hands on part of the exclusive Olympic wardrobe. “Even though the collection is created for the Danish athletes we’ve made it possible to buy a special selection of the clothes. This way, the Danes get the opportunity to show their support of the Olympic team during the Games – both in Denmark and live in London,” tells BESTSELLER’s Corporate Communication Manager Bo Terp.
The clothes will be available for the Danes in stores and online during the summer 2012.
Besides providing the clothes for the Danish Olympic delegation, BESTSELLER will dresses the Danish delegation at the 2012 Paralympics in London 17 days after the Olympics.
