Buying
practices

In BESTSELLER we acknowledge that our buying practices may have an influence on the working conditions at the factories where our products are manufactured.

We expect the suppliers to deliver our products at the right time, at the right price and the right quality while still complying with our Code of Conduct, but sometimes our own internal decision-making makes it difficult for our suppliers to follow the demands of our code.

Changing our product designs in the last minute or placing very large orders without taking the factory capacity into consideration are some of the factors that may result in a shorter lead time for a product and consequently have an impact on the working conditions at the factories.

Based on an extensive survey of our buying practices, we have mapped a number of areas where we can improve. This includes how we cooperate and communicate with our suppliers, and how we manage our internal processes. We have initiated an internal training programme which aims to educate our buyers and designers on responsible buying practices and hereby in their daily work make it easier for our suppliers to follow our Code of Conduct. We believe that our efforts here will benefit both factory workers and the business of BESTSELLER.
