Danish Ethical Trading Initiative

The Danish Ethical Trading Initiative is a partnership between companies, trade unions, and NGO’s. BESTSELLER participated in the establishment of the initiative in 2008.
The Danish Ethical Trading Initiative is a resource centre and a member organisation which will strengthen ethical trade and responsible supply chain management for Danish companies.
The initiative is the first multi-stakeholder initiative in Denmark with focus on ethical trade. It unites companies, business organisations, trade unions and non-governmental organisations (NGO’s) in a unique cooperation to find constructive solutions to the ethical challenges and dilemmas companies face when doing business with the developing countries and some of the new growth economies.

Better Cotton Initiative

BESTSELLER is a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) which is a global cooperation between companies and organizations from across the cotton supply chain. It unites a wide variety of stakeholders such as NGOs, cotton producers, suppliers, retailers and brands.
The initiative is established with the purpose of finding more sustainable solutions for the future cotton production. The initiative aims at making global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the future of the cotton sector.
The philosophy is to develop a market for a new mainstream raw material; ‘Better Cotton’ and thereby transform the conventional cotton production to bring long-term benefits for the environment, farmers and other stakeholders dependent on cotton.
Cotton being our most important raw material we want to contribute to a more sustainable cotton future. The goal is to create measurable value for all supply chain members and the environment and to secure the future cotton production.
