REASON: Traces of Chromium VI
PIECES recalls leather sandals due to finding of traces of Chromium VI.
There is no Danish law against Chromium VI. However, Chromium VI is not allowed according to our chemical restrictions (since 2005), because it may cause allergic reactions. PIECES has therefore decided to recall the leather sandals.
Tests made by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in 2009 showed that the above mentioned PIECES leather sandals do not meet our quality and safety restrictions. Unfortunately we have not been informed about the result of these tests until now, and we have therefore not been able to act accordingly.
We are carefully investigating this breach in our restrictions in order to find the cause.
PIECES gives anyone who still possesses these leather sandals the possibility to return them to any PIECES store or to the store where they were purchased. Customers are also welcome to send the leather sandals to PIECES, Toldboden, Havnen 1, 8700 Horsens, Denmark. Customers will receive a full refund and are offered a voucher worth EUR 30 for their inconvenience.
