DENMARK’S OLYMPIC HOPE

As part of the partnership with the Danish Olympic Organisation, Team Danmark, Bestseller has decided to give an award to a Danish athlete and thereby support his or her way to the Olympic Games 2008.

The award, “Denmark’s Olympic Hope”, is given to an athlete who has a positive attitude and shows great potential within his or her sport. Bestseller wants to contribute to making the athlete's Olympic dream come true.

The support that the winning athlete will receive will depend entirely on the individual needs of the person. This means that the athlete can receive assistance within anything from sports, education, work etc.

Bestseller awarded the swimmer Lotte Friis as Denmark’s Olympic Hope 2007. In 2007, Lotte won the European Championship in the women’s 800 freestyle, and at the Olympic Games in Beijing, she won a bronze medal in the women's 800 freestyle.

When selecting Denmark’s Olympic Hope different criteria are taken into consideration such as spirit, personality, international success, background, future, potential and dreams.

The winner in 2006 was the runner, Sara Slott Petersen.
