As part of the Olympic partnership with Team Danmark , for the fourth year running Bestseller presents the award “Denmark’s Olympic Hope”. The award is given to a young, promising athlete from Denmark who has a positive attitude and has shown great potential within his/her discipline.

This year’s nominees for the award are

  • Henrik Stephansen, rowing
  • Janick Klausen, high jump
  • Rikke Møller Pedersen, swimming

(Click here to read more about the nominees for the 2009 award).

Bestseller wants to support the athlete both in his/her sporting and personal life. It is important for Bestseller to find out what the individual athlete needs in order to match the support to those needs.

Part of the sponsorship consists of clothes from Bestseller’s brands. The support, that Denmark’s Olympic Hope receives, should help pave the way for him/her to fulfil his/her Olympic dreams.

The winner will be presented at the annual Danish sports awards broadcasted live on Danish television on 9 January 2010.

Last years’ winner was the talented young kayak rower Emil Stær, and in 2007 the swimmer Lotte Friis won the award. Lotte turned out to be a true Olympic hope as she won a bronze medal at the women’s 800m freestyle at the Olympic Games in Beijing. In 2006, Denmark’s Olympic Hope was the hurdler, Sara Slott Pedersen.
